FAQ and Troubleshooting
❓ Where do my exported textures go?
After exporting, your blood textures are automatically:
Saved as EXR files in your project’s
/Content/BloodDesigner/Exports
folder (by default).Imported back into Unreal Engine as
.uasset
files. You’ll find them in your Content Browser, ready to use.
❓ My exported texture looks blurry — what’s wrong?
⚡ This usually happens when Texture Streaming was left enabled during export.
✅ Always disable Texture Streaming in the Export Settings before exporting to guarantee full resolution and sharpness.
🔄 Note: Sometimes you may need to toggle the Texture Streaming option off and on again to properly refresh the blueprint and ensure the full-quality export.
❓ Can I export multiple blood textures at once?
Currently, Blood Designer exports one texture at a time. ▶️ To create multiple variations, simply:
Duplicate your
BP_BloodDesigner
actor.Tweak the material settings slightly.
Export each version individually.
❓ Will exporting overwrite my previous blood texture?
Yes. ▶️ If you export a new blood texture with the same name as an existing one, the old texture will be overwritten automatically.
✅ To avoid losing work, always rename your textures after export if you want to keep multiple versions.
❓ Can I use my exported blood textures on meshes, decals, or materials?
Absolutely! 🖼️ Your exported blood textures behave like any regular texture inside Unreal Engine:
Apply them to decals for level splatter.
Use them in materials on props, floors, walls, or characters.
Blend them into complex shader setups for dynamic effects.
❓ Does Blood Designer support animated blood effects?
No. ▶️ Blood Designer focuses on static blood textures (non-animated). It’s built for creating high-quality splats, pools, and stains — not dynamic splatter animations.
